Help Shape Cedar Rapids with the Next Generation Commission
It’s no secret that a lot of young people get their college degree in Iowa, but then leave the state to seek employment. The Next Generation Commission is here to help stop that trend and recently revealed the results of a very interesting study.
The report “… included findings and recommendations on how Cedar Rapids can position itself to better attract and retain the next generation. The group was formed after the Flood of 2008 at the request of Cedar Rapids’ community leadership, to advise the City Council, Recovery & Reinvestment Coordinating Team and the community on specific steps needed to make the Cedar Rapids area a place for the Next Generation to live, work and play.”
If you’re a young professional in the Cedar Rapids area, The Next Generation Commission wants you to attend a Neighborhood Planning Workshop this Saturday, January 31, 2009.
